Dana Zier

Dana Zier is a professional artist from Bridger, MT.  Zier holds a Master of Arts from Purdue University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Montana State University, Billings.  Dana has taught at Purdue University, Valparaiso University, and St. Joseph’s College in Indiana as well as Montana State University – Billings.   For 15 years Dana lived in Northwest Indiana, but moved back to be near her family homestead on Bowler Flat, Bowler, MT, and began the Zier Gallery in 2013 with her husband, Christopher Konz.   The Zier Gallery can be visited at 120 S. Main Street in Bridger.

Dana specializes in painting and drawing the Pryor wild horses, still-lives of native flowers and pioneer jars, landscapes from around the United States, portraits and murals.  The subtle beauty of the land and the magnificent mountains of southern Montana are beloved influences, as well as her past, growing up on a Montana ranch.  Her roots go back 5 generations to this country.

Among many other exceptional artists who impacted her life, Dana has studied under:  C.W. Mundy, Leo Neufeld, Harry Ahn, Rena Brouwer, Ben Steele, Neil Jussila, John Pollock and Mike Kosorak.
